On Thursday, May 9th from 10 a.m. – noon, State Representative William Kortz will hold an open house at his Dravosburg office, 751 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd.
You will have the opportunity to speak with me or my staff regarding any state issues you may have.
I am also happy to announce that a representative from the American Legion Service Officer program will be available to meet with my constituents who are veterans.
Chico Ficerai, a veteran herself, has been assigned to the office to assist constituents.
Veterans will be able have their basic veterans’ questions answered, and set up an appointment, if necessary. Scheduled appointments will begin on June 12th, and will continue monthly thereafter. Ms. Ficerai will be at my office on the second Wednesday of most months.
Ms. Ficerai, an accredited Veteran Service Officer, will set appointments to advise constituents and prepare applications for federal benefits such as VA Health Care, Service Connected Disabilities, VA Pensions, Education and Training, Home Loan Guaranty, VA Life insurance, and Burial and Memorial Benefits. The service is free of charge, and no one needs to be a member of The American Legion to utilize this program.
My office is the first in Southwestern PA to offer this program. Applying for Federal Veterans Benefits can be incredibly difficult. It is my hope that this will make the lives of these honorable citizens just a little bit easier.
If you have any questions about the open house or the veterans’ benefits program, please contact my office at (412) 466-1940.
